Hi, I have the above printer that is about 18 months old. It comes up with a black cartridge error.

I have done all the necessary checks, cleaned contacts, resets.

I have installed a brand new cartridge but still the same error.

Any ideas are appreciated as don't really want to throw it away as it's not that old.

Thankyou        (at wits end)

Dear Dgs54,

As both black cartridges are not working with your printer, that leads me to believe the issue is with your printer, and not the ink. If you have an HP extended warranty, or CarePack warranty, then I would suggest contacting HP Support, or visiting https://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/contact.html. As you have owned your printer for 18 months, the standard limited warranty included with your printer has most likely already expired. If you do not have an extended warranty, then I would suggest carefully cleaning the copper contacts on the printer. These are found where the cartridges are inserted. Unplug the printer prior to doing this, and take caution to not damage your printer. If this does not work, then you may need to purchase a new printer.

Have a nice day!

Evan
