Printer control panel is displaying error message "There is a problem with the printhead" rendering the printer unserviceable. I have followed all the diagnostic checks on the HP website and fault remains. The "Contact Support" link on the HP Australia website returns an error which prevents you from filling in the contact form that is available for the same link on the websites for other countries. My printer warranty expired 3 months ago so only just out of warranty. Very frustrating as we have bought only HP printers for many years now and need the machine back in service urgently. Reading posts from others with the same issue suggests that the printer requires replacing which is annoying given we decided to spend more on buying a hi-end inkjet printer?

1. Is the fault covered by HP even though the warranty period has expired?

2. How do you contact HP to report the issue given the contact support link on the website does not work?

3. Should we return the printer to the place of purchase or does this need to be resolved directy with HP?

Any advice welcomed.

The printhead will need to be resolved by HP rather than the retailer.  I do not know about HP Australia procedures, but I will ask to have your case escalated.

Someone from HP Support should contact you through the Private Messaging system.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Forum's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forum.
