I recently purchased a new iMac with OS Catalina 10.15.4. I am able to print using the photosmart 6510, but I am not able to scan. I am using a wired connection.

I understand you are not able to scan.
Kindly use the Apple Image Capture app or HP Easy Scan app to scan from your MAC.
