Can I use ink cartridge 61 when it calls for 63? They are excatly alike in size, and placement of copper contacts. I am getting 'Incompatiable Ink Cartridge'.  Is there any way to go around this error?

No,

The HP 61 ink cartridges are intended for other printer models.

Yout printer only uses HP 63 cartridges as described below:

I have a HP Office Jet 5255 and I mistakenly purchased a 61 combo pack  but my computer takes 63XL. Can I still use the 61?

Hi @Dani_123

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

HP OfficeJet 5255 All-in-One Printer uses HP 63 ink and HP 61 will not be compatible.

I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding this, if the inks were purchased directly from HP or contact the store.

Have a great day!
