By removing both HP Instant Ink cartridges and using standard in kcartridges instead any printed page will not count for HP Instant Ink.
By keeping any of the Instant Ink cartridge in the printer any printed page counts.

If you are going to print way more than your 50 pages per month, then why not bump up to the next level which is $4.99 a month which will take effect immediately and give you 100 pages per month? If you have already used 50 pages then you will only have an addiltional 50 pages remaining for that billing period. Before your billing period ends, drop back down to the 50 page plan. Any unused pages will carry over so the following month you will have 50 pages plus any carryover. (upgrades take effect immediatelly while downgrades don't take effect until the next billing period.
If you have the 50 page plan and you determine you are going to go over 50 pages, just do nothing and you will automatically receive an additional 20 pages for only $1.00. Your plan will stay at 50 pages for the next month.
The nice thing about the instant ink program is you can upgrade or downgrade as many times as you want throughout the year depending on your printing needs.
