HP OfficeJet 8702

I want to print on 5.5x8.5 card stock.  Printer says measurements don't match its 8.5x11.  Occasionally it prompts me to "modify," at which point I select 5.5x8.5, then attempt to print.  It tells me measurements don't match its 8.5x11.  When I "modify," it doesn't "take."  I cannot get these cards printed at all!!!

Welcome to the HP Community

Could you please help me with the operating system of the computer?

Can you print on a regular document?

The following table contains the supported paper sizes for HP OfficeJet 8702

Refer to this document: https://support.hp.com/in-en/product/hp-officejet-8702-all-in-one-printer-series/9249466/document/c0... Printer Specifications.

Keep me posted.

Have a great day!

Cheers 🙂

I'm using Windows 10.  My printer is a HP OfficeJet 8702.  There's only one paper tray.  It prints just fine on a regular document.

The following table contains the recommended maximum amount of paper to use in each tray.

Try a different card and check if it works fine.

Create custom paper sizes in printer properties (Windows 10 and 8 only)

Create a custom paper size directly from the printer properties menu.

  1. Load the custom-size paper into the paper input tray.

  2. Open the item you want to print.

  3. Click File, and then click Print.

  4. In the Print window, click Preferences, Properties, or Printer Properties.

  5. Click the Paper/Quality tab, and then click Custom.

    NOTE:

If you do not see a Custom button on the Paper/Quality tab of the printer properties window, skip to the section to Create custom paper sizes from Devices and Printers.

  6. In the Custom Paper Size window, click New.

  7. Type a name for your custom paper size, adjust the width and height to your preference, and then click OK.

    NOTE:

To change the dimensions to metric, click Millimeters.

Your custom paper size is now saved. You can select this custom paper size in the future and edit it if needed.

  8. Click OK, click the Paper Size drop-down menu, and then scroll down and select your custom paper size.

  9. Make any other preference changes if necessary, and then click OK.

    NOTE:

Supported paper sizes vary by printer. If you input custom dimensions that your printer does not support, the new custom paper size does not display when you attempt to print. Check the printer specifications for your printer for more information on supported paper sizes.

  10. Click OK or Print to print the document.

Keep me posted, how it goes!

This might need remote access of your computer to fix this issue.

I request you to talk to HP support.

They might have multiple options to help you with this.

  1. Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true
  2. Select the country.
  3. Enter the serial of your device.
  4. Select the country from the drop-down.
  5. Click on "Show Options".
  6. Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

Cheers.
