Greetings,

 

I just noticed a new folder that appeared:

 

%UserProfile%\HP\Print Box

 

The folder is empty. How can I find out where it came from?

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

 

The folder mentioned is under the HP folder directory and is a part of the HP print driver.

By default, the printer driver gets installed in 'C:\Windows\system32\spool\DRIVERS\x64'.

 

Keep me posted for any other assistance.

By default, the printer driver gets installed in 'C:\Windows\system32\spool\DRIVERS\x64'.

There are a bunch of files there.

 

I wish the installer would ask me if it was creating a folder in the user directory.

You may choose the drive/folder where you want the printer driver to be installed while the driver installation. Better assistance can be provided by remote assistance from our HP Support team. 

Please contact our HP Support team for further assistance:

1) Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Select your product type below.

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Select the appropriate option based on your preference.

6) Fill the web-form and proceed further.
