?

The only way that question makes sense to me is if you have an Instant Ink print-by-page subscription and contract.

Just taking the printer off the network does not impact (or magically cancel) the contract.

If the printer is "old", still being used (or not) and it is still on contract,

You need to start Web Services on the printer so the printer can connect with the Instant Ink server

If you discarded the printer or wish to cancel your Instant Ink contract, you may do so.

Instant Ink information, including a link (below the FAQ section) to the all-important Terms of Service Contract

NOTE:   It is NOT necessary that you be enrolled to read the contract > Open the main website > scroll down just past the FAQ

  •  Cancellation is (at this writing for the USA contract) item 9c CANCELLATION
  • Important information about Instant Ink cartridges (at this writing), item 5e

Connected - what?

There are two main kinds of being "connected"

  • Wireless or Wired connection to your home network - normal activities, printer connection

Problems with normal Printing Offline:

Use this version of the Doctor to resolve...

HPPSdr.exe

Information / version file

HPPSdr.xml

  • Web Services connection that monitors Instant Ink and / or other mobile printing services

Open website:  HP Smart / HP Connected

Open category How to > Turning On Web Services  (Includes “Turn off Web Services” help)
