I have a Macbook Pro running latest OS Sierra.
I have recently ordered the HP Envy 4527 Wireless All-in-one printer which claims to have
My university states on the Wireless FAQ section of their website:
"Most wireless printers are manufacturer for the home market and are not able to connect to an 802.1x enterprise network, such as what we have here. You will need to check with your printer manufacturers to see if it supports this type of wireless network."
I'm not sure what the difference is between 802.11 and 802.1x enterprise. Will it connect and allow me to print wirelessly?
Many thanks in advance.

The school is correct. Home printers do not support Enterprise Authentication. Which means your PC is prompted for a Username and Password. Printer can not do this.
You will need a USB cable to print.
