alignment scan hangs and power light blinks

Deskjet 3050
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After replacing both ink cartridges, an alignment page printed.

However when I tried to do the alignment scan, the scan did not complete - just got hung up.

The power light is blinking.

I cancelled the scan but now its stuck on the screen that says an alignment scan is recommended.

I cannot get it to go to the screen where you can pick copy or scan

@Gale18, Welcome to HP Support Community!

 

Follow the steps to reset the printer-

  1. Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  4. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  5. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  6. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  7. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  8. Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  9. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Now, try completing the alignment. If you have issues, share the picture of the alignment page.

Hello. Already tried all that.

What happened actually is that the scanner/copy mechanism no longer goes back and forth so not only could I not do an alignment scan, I could not scan or copy anything. It still prints

Meanwhile, I bought a new printer.

This looks like a hardware issue.

 

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.
