envy 4527 ink says empty

My envy randomly stopped printing just says there is an issue with at least one cartridge

i do not use color as its only school work to be printed so no color needed, i have replaced the black but still says the same issue and says both are empty

tried to;

restart the printer

replace the black cartridge

update firmware

clean contacts as suggested any other ideas?

I have been using cartridge save ink

Hi @Steve00001

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

I understand you are not able to print due to an ink cartridge error. I appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve this issue by performing all the necessary troubleshooting steps.

If you have tried the steps mentioned in this document and the issue persists, I'm afraid this is a hardware issue with the printer.

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
