OfficeJet 8600
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Our OfficeJet 8600 has been great. But it's years old now and I notice that dust or ink has gotten into the tracks on which the ink cartridges slide into place. So there is now some resistance to inserting them. They used to slide easily. I want to clean the tracks so cartridges slide into place without any resistance. (If it makes a difference the printer takes 4 951xl cartridges.)  Thanks.  B.

Hi,

This printer has a print head assembly in which you install the cartridges. you can uninstall the print head remove the cartridge and clean it with a lint free cloth. below is a document which has a video on how to remove the print head.

once done, please make sure to lower the grey colored latch to lock the printhead....

hope this helps.
