@BJB128, Welcome to HP Support Community!

Follow the steps below-

  1. Tap on the wireless icon on the printer, note the printer's IP address. In an Internet browser address bar, type the printer's IP address, and then press the Enter key or click or tap the Search icon.

Wi-Fi Direct IP address entered into the Chrome address bar

  2. If a website security certificate displays, click Continue to open the EWS.

  3. Click or tap Network, click Wi-Fi Direct, and then click or tap Status.

A message displays that you are being redirected to a secure HTTPS-enabled page. Click or tap OK or Redirect to HTTPS. If a Your connection is not private message displays, click or tap Advanced, and then click or tap Proceed to [Printer IP address].

Opening the Wi-Fi Direct status details

  4. On the Wi-Fi Direct Status screen, click or tap Edit Settings > status > Off. Click apply to save changes.

    Changing Wi-Fi Direct settings

Update the printer firmware

Download available firmware updates from the HP website

With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. For more information, go to Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
