Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

hp 4520 access denied in settings for printer.  Cannot change features.  "access denied message.  Last Windows update 5/22/17  "windows update 1703"

I reviewed your post and I understand that you are getting an error saying access denied when trying to access the printer features.

In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details and I would appreciate if you could, perhaps elaborate on your concern.

 

  • When was the last time the printer was working fine?
  • What feature are you trying to change?
  • Are you able to print?
  • Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?
  • Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?

 

Meanwhile, I recommend you to uninstall the printer completely from the computer and install it again.

 

Follow the steps in the below article to uninstall the printer.

Once the printer is uninstalled, restart the computer and follow the steps in the below article to install it.
