I just purchased a used 8600 color printer & it came with no ink cartridges. 1. Will it print if I install only 1 cartridge? 2. If all 4 cartridges are required to print may i install all black cartridges? I don't need color printing. Tx so much.

Hi Zaada,
Since you recently purchased your printer - I would recommend returning it. The ink cartridges should have been included.
You cannot print w/ only one cartridge and the color slots will not accept a different color (black) cartridge.
If you truly do not want color printing you may be happier with a black only laser printer.

Hi,
Thank you for posting in HP support forums.
I understand you have purchased a used printer. Since there are no cartridges, you will have to purchase all 4 of them. Only then the printer will work.
This printer takes 3 colors and 1 black cartridge.
Even if 1 cartridge is missing the printer will not operate, cause that's how these printer's are designed.
