Hi ,

Attached are the ink levels showing up in my printer.

inklevel.jpeg

It clearly shows that I have still appropriate levels for my black ink. So ideally I should be able to print right?

But when I try to print, it is just printing blank pages.

Moreover, when I try to go into advanced settings of the printer, I dont see any option to change the color option to B/W or greyscale. Am i missing something here ?

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

Please remove the empty color cartridge and you should be able to print in black

Also try making a photocopy and let me know if that works

Keep me posted

Thanks for responding. I got new cartridges and was able to print. However, i will try your solution below and see whether i am able to print via my old black cartridge.

Did you see other part of my question regarding an "option to print black"  as default in the printer settings even if i have color cartridge installed.

I'm glad you got this issue sorted out

You should find the option under printer properties.

@KrazyToad,

I don't see the option under step 3. Please refer to the screenshot -

I suggest you uninstall the printer driver from root level and download the full feature software

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’
6.) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
8.) Click on the “Drivers” tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
13.) Restart the computer and download the Full Feature Software from Here and follow the onscreen Instructions
