i am printing checks, when i am printing the printer advances the check down the 1/3 before printing

hp photosmart 6520

The check stock is colored the first 1/3 and it seems the printer wants to print in the white areas(bottom 2/3) only.  If i print with regular white copy paper it prints correctly.

@mattyd02,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

Thank you for posting your query on this forum, it's a great place to find answers.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details.

  • When was the last time the printer was working fine?
  • From which application/software you are printing?
  • What is the operating system you are using?
  • Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?

Look forward to hearing from you and you have a great day!

Take care.

Cheers!
