I inserted a new color cartridge number 61 which is what is required for my Envy 5530 and I have used before and it worked. This time the printer tells me that the cartridge is not compatible with the printer. What is going on?

@Garyfop, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Make sure the protective tape from the ink cartridge is removed before inserting it in the printer.
Also, check for any damages or leaks on the ink cartridge.
Reset the printer
With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
Wait at least 15 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
Turn the printer on.
Perform the steps mentioned in this document.
