Officejet pro 8028
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I purchased my officejet pro 8020  from Costco 2 days ago so I can give my smalert officejet to my office assistant to work from home.  It would not connect to my wifi. I cant speak to a human person without goin through the steps on a useless virtual assistant so I did. Warranty came up as exchanged. So I returned it after hours of arguing with it. Came home with the same one model but different printer. It will not connect to my wifi. Says the password is wrong. The password is not wrong. Went back to the old virtual assistant. It said warranty expired November 2019. Why won't it connect to my wifi? Anyone?

Hi @Rcazz16

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the connectivity issue.

To better assist you -

1.) Is your router dual-band enabled i.e., both 2.4GHz and 5GHz? If yes, make sure the dual band has different SSIDs for 2.4G and 5G networks.

2.) Can you send us a picture of the screen asking you to enter the password?

3.) Make sure the security type is WEP, WPA, or WPA2.

While you respond to that, please try these steps -

Step 1 Network Restore -

1. From the printer control panel, touch or swipe down the tab at the top of the screen to open the Dashboard, and then touch ( Setup ).

2. Touch Network Setup.

3. Touch Restore Network Settings.

Step 2 Reboot the devices -

1. Turn off the Router, Printer, and the computer.

2. Wait for 60 seconds.

3. Turn on the Router first and wait for all the lights to stabilize.

4. Turn on the printer and allow it to configure itself.

5. Turn on the computer.

Step 3 Run Wireless Wizard -

1. From the printer control panel, touch or swipe down the tab at the top of the screen to open the Dashboard, and then touch (Wireless).

2. Touch ( Settings ).

3. Touch Wireless Settings.

4. Touch Wireless Setup Wizard or Wi-Fi Protected Setup.

5. Follow the display instructions to complete the setup.
