My hp officejet pro 6830 suddenly quit printing black, can see ghost letters on paper but no black ink. Test page show color but no black. Replaced all 4 ink cartridges that cost me $80 thinking this was the issue. Went through all the  troubleshooting hoops such as cleaning print heads...no luck. If I can't resolve this issue I will be shopping for another printer and it won't be an HP. Very frustrating.

That's unfortunate. Let us try these steps:

 

Reset the printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

 

Update the printer firmware

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

 

Verify if you have tried the steps mentioned in this document to resolve this issue.

Tried the suggestion disconnect and reconnect my printer left for 60 second. Tried to print on clean white paper still the same result printer only printing in cyan

 

Help please needed urgently too much work piling up needing printing.
