Deskjet F4235
macOS 10.13 High Sierra

This Deskjet F4235 was powered off (thus could not do its clean cycles) for about a year.  I reconnected it and the Printer Utility says there is nearly full ink cartridges for both color and black, but it will not print AT ALL.  I have run printhead cleaning cycles through level 3 but still blank paper.  I assume it is clogged somewhere.  But, can I clean it and revive this printer?  If not, would purchasing new cartridges fix it or would I be wasting my time and a lot of money?  I would ask HP Cares except that I do not think they care about products that are not new (i.e., out of warranty).

@gil_bates, Welcome to HP Support Community!

If you have already performed the steps from the document Faded, Missing, or Dull Colors in Printouts and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

Hope this helps!

Is there support for products whose warranty is expired?  I understood that I would have to pay even to get someone to tell me that it is not fixable.  I just want to know if it is worth buying new cartridges or not.  The utility says that both cartridges are nearly full, so it makes me think that purchasing new ones might not help, but if the cartridges themselves are dried where the ink tries to exit the cartridges, it might fix it.  All I am looking for is an answer whether it is worthwhile to buy new cartridges or just get a new printer.  Considering that new cartridges cost nearly as much as a new printer, it makes a difference.

HP does support OOW products. Charges are applicable when there is a service required. Talking to the support team will give you more insights into what can be done further.

Thanks for understanding!
