hp officejet 6500 wireless
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a hp officejet 6500 wireless.    I can send a print from my laptop (wirelessly) and it prints fine, however when I try to use the document feeder or the copier it prints 1/4 of the page in all black and the other 3/4 of the page is black and white vertical streaks.   Any one have any idea what would be causing that problem?

Thanks for getting back with me.    I went through the steps but did not have success.   I believe it has other problems as well (papermismatch keeps showing up as well and I have not been able to correct that either.   I think I need a new printer or it needs to be serviced.    Thank you for your time.

I thank you for your response and I appreciate your effort on doing all troubleshooting steps.

I understand the situation well.

Don't worry though as I have a few steps to determine the issue and find a solution as well,

  • Open the scanner lid, check of the scanner light is lit up and moving across the screen when you copy.

I also see that you are getting paper mismatch issue on your printer.

  • Adjust the paper size setting.
  • Check the paper source setting.
  • Reset the printer.

I hope it helps and if you feel I have answered your question and concerns,
