Scan has stopped

For no reason i can see, my scan has stopped. it has worked well enough.

I am on wifi, and the print continues to work.

i have been on Windows 10 for some time with no issues.

When i hit scan, i get a note that

The HP Deskjet 2540 series was not found.

 

I have reinstalled the software from the HP site.

i have powered off the router, pc, and printer in different combinations.

 

Any suggestions would be gratefully recieved.

Thanks for using the HP forum.  We'd like to suggest that you uninstall and reinstall your printer software.


Please Uninstall and Reinstall the FULL feature software following these steps:

1. Download and save the FULL feature software (do not install it online)

 

http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-psc-2400-photosmart-all-in-one-printer-series/303...


2. Uninstall the software in your computer
3. Install the FULL feature “Saved” software
