set up cartridge error "Use the cartridges that came with the printer" do not have setup cartridges

HP Pavilion
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I purchased an HP Officejet 8710  Pro printer (SN [edited])  many years ago.  Used and depleted the install cartridges at that time.  Had to perform a reset of the printer.  Now printer requires install cartridges to complete the install.  How do I complete the install without the install cartridges?  Been a HP customer and registrant for many years.

@DrJohn2019, Welcome to HP Support Community!

 

The only option left is to perform an OOBE reset and re-initialize the printer. 

 

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device. 

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
