HP Officejet 6958
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When I am printing more than 2 pages at a time extra blank pages come out inbetween the printed ones, and this last time one page actually got wrinkled when coming out with printing on only half of the page. I have checked and I am not finding any paper jams, etc. I have also updated the firmware recently.

@Carlene1,

Thanks for reaching out to the HP community. A very good day to you. I will be glad to assist you and let’s get right to it. Excellent analysis and terrific description of the issue. It is amply appreciated.

Let me gather some information for better clarity to assist you correctly:

  • Did you try making copies directly from the printer and check again?
  • Did you run HP print and scan doctor and check again?

Meanwhile, I will be providing a roadmap with some troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue. Let us try these steps:

Make 2 copies directly from the printer without any communication from the computer and check if it copies correctly. If it copies correctly then try these steps:

uninstall and reinstall the printer's full feature drivers by following these steps:

  • In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
  • Select your HP printer.
  • Select Uninstall.
  • In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
  • In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
  • Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
  • Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
  • Click on Drivers tab.
  • Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
  • Select OK.
  • Remove all instances of the same.
  • Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
  • Close Devices and Printers.
  • Restart the PC again.

Then download the latest full feature driver from https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-officejet-6950-all-in-one-printer-seri...  and install it on the computer after selecting the correct operating system.

Connect the printer to your computer only when the setup prompts for the printer.

It is alright to install it as a USB printer and later convert it to a wireless printer.

This should fix it for you.

Good luck and keep me posted about the developments. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution as it will help several others with the same issue and give the post a Kudos for my efforts to help. Thank you and have a great week ahead. 🙂
