OK, after thinking about this some more, maybe we are chasing our tail with messing with the router.  The printer is connected to your network with 'Excellent' signal strength.  Let's assume it is good.

 

Let's reset the printing system again:

 

- Make sure your Mac is on the same network as the printer.
- Go to System Preferences > Print & Scan
- Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select "Reset Printing System".
WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!
- Select the plus sign to re-add a printer. Select the Defualt tab on the top of the window. Look for the printer, select it and wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it.

Honestly, I rolled my eyes when I first read this, because I thought "We've DONE this already!" and I was ready to return this printer and go back to using the old one. But I did what you said anyway. It froze up my computer and I had to 'force quit', which really made me figure this was it.

 

But guess what? IT WORKED! Hallelujah! 

 

Now, I'm guessing that if my husband and daughter still can't print wirelessly from their computers, they should do the same thing? (Remembering they did not upgrade to Lion OS as I did, but were also having issues printing.)

Great!  Yup, if they have OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, they can follow the exact same instructions.  To avoid frozen computers it is a good idea to restart the Mac before executing the instructions above.

This problem has surfaced again. I've gone over all of the prior instructions and so far no luck with any of them in restoring functionality.

BTW, while my husband and I were both able to use the instructions last time to print wirelessly from our Macs, my daugher never was using all the same steps. 

This is getting more than a bit frustrating.

Let's pick on your Macs:

 

First on the 10.7 unit, download and install: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1484

On the 10.6 units, download and install: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399

 

When those are complete, let's repair disk permissions:

 

1. Open Finder and go to Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility.  Open it.

2. Choose your 'Macintosh HD' on the left side, then click "Repair Disk Permissions" along the bottom.

 

Now, try to connect the printer again.

I finally got a chance to implement, only to be thwarted again.

It took forever to download from the link provided, but got 'er done. When I tried to install, I got a screen with two options; Macintosh HD (hard drive icon) and Mac OS (the icon that comes up for zip drives and stuff). Both have yellow triangles with an exclamation point in them. It says, "Mac OS X Update combined can't be installed on this disk. This update requires Mac OS X version 10.7.3 or earlier." 

So, I looked under 'about this Mac, just to make sure I'm not crazy, and sure enough, 10.7.4.

I've tried every which way to install. Can't.

I even tried running the permissions thing. It ran forever also, all HP printer yadda yadda as ran as far as I could tell. Did the uninstall thing again. It still says the printer is not connected and does not recognize. But it is on.

This is getting ridiculous. This printer has NOT worked more than it has, and I've now wasted hours upon hours on it. You have too, and I appreciate it, but really. Maybe I just have a bum printer. How about HP just takes it back and gives me a working model?

Since we last talked 10.7.4 was released.  Here is the Combo version of that: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1524

 

Let's set a static IP address for the printer:


- Print a Network Config Page from the front of the printer. Note the printer's IP address.
- Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
- Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
- On this screen you want to set a Manual IP. You need to set an IP address outside the range that the router automatically sets (called the DHCP range). Yours is 192.168.1.100 to .149.  Let's use 192.168.1.200 for your printer.
- Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it is different, if so, use that)
- Enter your router's IP (on the Network Config Page) for the gateway.
- Enter 8.8.8.8 for the first DNS and 8.8.4.4 for the second DNS. This is Google DNS. You can choose another external DNS if you wish.
- Click 'Apply'.

Now, shut down the router and printer, start the router, wait, then start the printer.

 

Finally, reset the printing system (again):

- Go to System Preferences > Print & Scan
- Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.

Well, these directions did not seem to be for my system. For instance, there was no 'networking tab'...there was a section for networking within the set up tab; there was no wireless selection 'along the left side', but I did have a wireless tab, nor did I have a 'configure page'. My 'advance set up page, seemed to be the only way where there was a 'gateway'.  

So I looked for indicators as to where I should input the values suggested and did so. The printer now works...but now I cannot access the internet. I am using my phone as a hot spot.

The first thing I tried to do was go back to the IP address to revert those numbers so I can get internet back. I just get a 504 error message!

I am so seriously frustrated at this point!

And I REALLY hope you have ideas on how to fix this, because one of the times we went through this, you suggested the router was the problem (even though the router at that time worked fine for everything else on every computer in the house) and I called Cisco, they informed me that they couldn't even make suggestions without charging me.

Sorry for the instructions, they are rather generic as printer menus vary a lot.  I don't have an Envy 110 to play with.  The salient point to get your Internet back is to set a Manual DNS.  It is likely on the same page as the Manual IP setting.

 

So, as clues here are some terms to look for in the menus to help you find the settings:

 

- Network

- Wireless

- 802.11

- IPv4

- DNS
