My HP Envy 7640 Printer suddenly requires that I sign in by Search Text, Printer Address, Hostname

My HP Envy 7640 was working fine until yesterday. Now it requires that sign in with Search Text, Printer Address, or Hostname.

Hi @Armagillis

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and fix any driver issue

Click here to download the file. Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and click on 'Fix printing'.

If the issue persists, proceed to the next step.

Check the wireless connectivity between the printer and the PC

Restart the wireless router, the printer, and the PC.

  • Make sure the printer and the PC are connected to the same wireless network.
  • This printer supports only 2.4GHz network. So, the PC should be on the 2.4GHz network.

Try printing.

Use the HP Smart app to print and scan from your Win PC

Click here to download and know more about the app.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
