Thanks

Hello @Kathieh3,

The steps I mentioned has to be done on the printer screen, not on the computer.

On the printer screen, touch “Fax” – “Settings” – “Advanced fax settings”. Once you scroll through the menu options, you will find the “ringer option” or “ringer volume” option. Select and reduce the volume.

Let me know if that helps!

Hello @Kathieh3, Greetings!

Welcome back to the HP Forums, I'd be happy to help you with your printer issue.

I guess you are trying to turn off the fax ringer. I am afraid you cannot completely turn off the ringer volume. But you can reduce the volume of the ringer to a very mild ring.

Try going to “Fax” – “Settings” – “Advanced fax settings”. Once you scroll through the menu options, you will find the “ringer option” or “ringer volume” option. Select and reduce the volume.

Let me know if that helps or if you need further assistance.

Cheers 🙂

Dvortex,

Thank you for your suggestion.  I attempted to do as you described but got a popup telling me the IP address needs to be updated.  I can scan from my computer to the printer and also print from my cell phone so I don't think the IP address is the problem.

Hi again,  rebooted the computer and no more popup but can't locate any place to lower the volume of the ringer.
