I received an alert on my printer that I needed to replace my black cartridge (for the 2nd time ever). I opened the door to check the number, now the door will not completely shut on the Right side if all cartridges are installed. I noticed a broken lever on the left on the black cartridge. I have replaced it and am still getting the same error. This is not an "office" machine. This is my personal printer at home, so no slamming of doors by anyone. Any ideas?

The left side cartridge lock lever for the black has broken. If you remove the black toner you will see the piece sort of hanging down and loose in the slot. What I usually do is make a small shim with a piece of cardboard and place it on the inside part of the lever sticking down and force it up with the cardboard so it stays up. You can then put the black toner in where it stays in place and with the front cover closed the lock is really not necessary. See if that solves your issue and if not places take a photo of the left and right sides of the black toner slot with the toner removed so we can see if we see something else you can do.

I have already replaced the broken left top lever. I did that last night. There is another issue beyond that $2 part. The printer will engage and give an insert supplies message if less than 4 cartridges are inserted.

Please provice photos with toners removed. There are lock levers on both sides and also a chip reader for each slot so the printer knows toners are installed. One diagnostic tool you have is to to to the diagnostics menu even with the install toner message and choose the item disable cartridge check and when the printer says ready, diagnostics mode you can operate the printer with 0 to 4 toners. Also are you saying that you replaced the left side lock lever and the toner fully seats on the left side but does not fully seat on the right side. If that is the case pictures will sure help.
