I'm from Germany. Same problem here. I'm in contact with the Business Support, but they have no solution yet.

Matthewcarp posted this on the apple support forum:

"... I changed my font from the default of Calibri to Cambria and it worked.   I randomly selected Cambria, and haven't tried other fonts.

Nonetheless, Calibri is a great font and it needs to work - it worked before.

Is it possible that the font needs re-installed somehow?"

I'll try this when back at the office.

I have the same problem on an HP M551. Many, not all, MS Office (O365) docs won't print and only show an XML/Postscript-like error on the first printout page. Many, not all, PDF's do have the same issue.  PCL 'kind of' works, but it's greyscale and low resolution.

The problem only happens on a MBPro that was just updated to High Sierra; prior to the update from Sierra, all was fine and dandy in printer-land. A MBAir, on the same network, running only Sierra (not High Sierra), prints the same offending documents just fine to the same printer. I can also print fine from Parallels / Windows 10 from the offending MBPro, as well to the HP M551. There is a big bug in High Sierra; probably something to do with Postscript, as others have noted.

The Calibri trick worked for me (Yes!!) but unfortunately, that won't work on PDF's that won't print. Can't change those fonts...

I've had a case into Apple for 3 weeks and spent hours on the phone with them over three sessions. No help whatsoever. But I'd recommend everyone opening a case with them nonetheless as the more people that complain, the more likely they'll listen.

Good luck!

I am in the same boat - some days it prints fine - PDF - Microsoft 2011 (yes 2011) - Ulysses - etc.

Other days - no joy.

Look forward to HP actually helping us all here.

rjv33 back again.

Yes I am using Word 2011 too and it is fine. NO porblems at all. Thank heavens I did not update to Office 365 or 2016.

I have gone back to using my HP Laserjet Pro P1102w - the trusty old first HP b/w laserjet, that HP seems not so interested in promoting anymore.  However - it works perfectly with High Sierra, as opposed to the M553.

Folks, find an older printer and reconnect it for now. Regards, Robyn

Same problem as me with the M551. I'll try Airprint.

Might i recommend that you call Apple Support? I have a case going and more cases on the same issue might get them off their ...
