Hi all,

 

Two years ago I could fix the problems with my HP 1320 / HP M551 printers and  10.13 in 2017 by using this excellent workaround from @Prints_William.

 

But today, I updated to Catalina and suddenly, the printer behaved very similar as back in 2017 - just an error page, whatever I tried to print.

 

Fortunatley, I found the problem quickly and would like to share it here: what was a fix in 2017 has now become the problem. Apparently, even through 2 major OS updates, these PPDs remained untouched, so the 2017 fix was still in place and with the changes in Catalina, made printing fail.

 

The solution is simple: revert the PPD back to the original state from 2017 and printing works again.

So, just change back  *TTRasterizer None back to *TTRasterizer: Type42 in the same files @Prints_William describes in his original post.
