There is a one inch band of blurred printing down the right edge of every page I print. This began occurring last week.  I pulled out the cartridge and found toner build up on the imaging roller and parts of the plastic housing so I cleaned it off with air pressure.  Now the blurring is very subtle but wider it had been no more than 1/2 wide previously and a the last few characters of the last words or figures were disfigured. Now it's just a ghostly ban where nothing is legible. Any troubleshooting suggestions? Thanks

May be a defective cartridge that you will need to replace or the fuser may be damaged, a sample posted here would help.

Kudos for your thoughtful feedback. Prior to seeing your comment I was able to get through to phone support. They suggested running the Clean page cycle which among other things yielded some red foam rubber particles and a strip of black film, all of which suggested it was from a roller. The support person, based on photos that I submitted, felt that it was from a roller in the fuser. Luckily I didn't open a new cartridge! I am disappointed that after buying HP printers and only HP cartridges for many years this model would have a defective part that lasted just long enough to get past the warranty period. I'm off to try a Brother as a replacement with the hope I won't feel as cheated.
