Can't scan anymore

Hi,

Since the update to macOS Catalina, I cannot use my scanner anymore. When is HP going to update HP Easy Scan ?

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

HP Easy Scan is not yet compatible with macOS 10.15 Catalina. We're actively working to restore complete functionality. I suggest using HP Smart app or Apple Image capture to scan from your MAC. Kindly refer to this document to know how.

Does one of these alternative solutions allow me to perform OCR like I do with the document I usually scan with HP Easy Scan ? I bought this HP printer / scanner partly because of this functionality.

I understand your concern. However, HP Easy Scan is required to use the OCR feature. Kindly wait for an updated version of the app. I appreciate your patience.

As of now, we do not have a turn around time as when the updated HP Easy Scan will be released. HP will release a document and a notification on the HP Support site once it is available.
