Cannot stop duplex printing

HP LaserJet P1006
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My printer has recently started duplex printing even though in the printing preferences, the option is not selected.

I've performed a root level uninstall, but upon reinstalling the driver from HP site the print still prints duplex without that option selected in settings.

Cannot stop duplex printing

Hi @CordeliaHare

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

If you previously set up a duplex printing job, the settings might carry over to the next print job. To change to one-sided printing, turn off the duplex setting in the print driver.

  1. Open the document, click File, and then click Print.

  2. Select your printer, and then click Printer Properties, Preferences, or Printer Setup, depending on what displays, to open the Document Properties or Printing Preferences window.

  3. Use one of the following methods to open and select duplex printing settings. Menu names vary by printer model.

    • If a Layout, Features, or Finishing tab is available, click it, and then select None.

Duplex printing menu on the Layout tab in the HP print driver

  • If a Printing Shortcut tab is available, click it and select off
  • Duplex printing shortcut in the HP print driver

If the issue persists, install the printer using Windows built-in driver

Refer to this document to know how. Try printing.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
