Cant install HP color laserjet 3600n to windows 10

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Printer was previously installed to this computer then I started having problems with connection. I have uninstalled the printer and have tried to reinstall printer again. Printer fails to install. I have tried installing HP printer software for Windows 7 (64) software and install software and does not complete the 3rd step which is finalize the installation. I been told to delete the printer drivers and try again from printer server properties and from mmc. I have and no luck. May someone help me please?

Hi,

You should use the Windows Vista 64-bit drivers, not the software listed for Windows 7...

Please follow below steps to install and use the printer on a Windows 10 64-bit PC, below I also included the files required by the document:

https://support.hp.com/hr-en/document/c03515691

 

For a USB connection only, below drivers should be installed:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/COL44939/fp-148007-1/Dot4x64.msi

 

Below drivers should be used to install the printer:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software10/COL12004/lj-36127-5/HP_CLJ3600_64bit_HB.exe

 

If you experience any issues, are you trying to install the printer via USB or through a network connection?

Before I get started. The link you gave is installing the printer by USB. If i use that method will I be able to use the printer through my WiFi network?

The first link is required for USB only, fr a network connection you should only use the 2nd link, by installing it as described on the included support document.

Thank you! It works great. Another question. My son has a HP Chromebook (School Laptop), how would I configure the chromebook to have the ability to print from same printer?

You should be able to use the printer from a Chromebook using the HP Print for Chrome app, Follow below steps to configure the printer on a Chromebook:

Good Afternoon Shlomil

 

Thank you for your help and advice.  My 3600n started working great, but then it just started printing on monochrome then again in color. Now it does not want to connect to the computer. May you help?
