Product: HP Color Laserjet Pro MFP M281fdw and Officejet Pro 7740

Hello HP Community!

 

Good day to you all!

 

I am having issues with cartridges compatibility. Initially officejet pro 7740 has 954/954xl but our office sent us 953xl and it is now showing "error - incompatible cartridge". Same is happening with MFP M281fdw when our office sent us 203A CF540A and CF203X CF504X instead of 202A CF500A/CF501A/CF502A/CF503A.

Hi,

 

For the OJ 7740 it seems that you might have good cartridges but printer from the worng region.

OJ 7740 series can use HP 953/953XL and HP 954/954XL but the difference is in the region where the printer was sold.

 

HP 953/953XL are for printer sold in Europe, Middle East and Africa

HP 954/954XL are for printers sold in Latin America

 

So you have a printer for Latin America and you will need to contact HP support ( use their Facebook page ) and ask for regionalization of the printer: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printers-Knowledge-Base/HP-Printer-purchased-in-a-different-country-ne... 

 

That's probably the same problem on your laserjet.
