Color Laserjet Pro MFP M281cdw
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I had a HP 6500 for years and on Monday it stopped printing black. It would print color, but nothing else. I replaced the black ink cartridge and cleaned the printhead. Nothing helped. I finally figured the printhead was dead and decided to order a new printer.

Yesterday I got the Color Laserjet Pro MFP M281cdw. I got it all set up, installed the drivers, and guess what? It won't print black either!

I spent 2 hours on a video chat with my friend who is a IT manager and nothing we did helped. We did all the possible Windows updates on my surface, we uninstalled and reinstalled the printer drivers multiple times, and nothing worked. We tried printing wirelessly, through a hard connection, and even from my phone - nothing helped.

Please, is there anyone that can tell me what the heck is going on here? Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Are you able to copy in black?

Do perform the steps from here: https://support.hp.com/in-en/product/hp-color-laserjet-pro-m280-m281-multifunction-printer-series/14...

Let me know if this helps.

Thanks!

Have a great day!
