I reloaded ink cartridges that were empty.  I then got the damaged cartridge error after printing about 8 pages.  I reinserted the cartridge and still got the error.  I removed the cartridge and replaced it with a new HP one and I am still getting the error.  Firmware is updated. I have a HP Officejet Pro 8610.  Can you help me fix this situation?

Check the contacts on both the printhead and the cartridge.  Refilled cartridges often leak a little ink that contaminates the contacts. If contacts are dirty you need to clean them with a cotton swap dampened with water, do this with the power OFF. Let dry, reinstall cartridges and power on.
