HP LaserJet 4250 (duplex)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I connected my 4250 (with duplex) to a new computer and downloaded the latest drivers (both PS and PLC6), but nothing I do gives me the dialogue box that used to come up and is shown on HP's own home page as showing up: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06234319 . I can get it to work crudely by adjusting printer properties, but the full dialogue box is really necessary.

There used to be a full software package to download, but now all I can find are the PS and PCL6 universal printer drivers.

On your PC, go to control panel>devices and printers and right click the icon for your printer and select printer properties. Click on the device options tab and scroll down to install able  options tab. Find the duplex option and make sure it shows as installed. Change as required.

Perhaps I didn't explain myself clearly enough. I already did what you suggested and I can print duplex. The problem is the dialogue box that I linked to. It does not show up in the printer drivers I downloaded.

I hate to be a pest, but do you see my problem and have any suggestions for me_

Hi,

Are you trying to auto-duplex or your hardware does not have a duplex unit and you try manually?

Assuming you try manual duplexing, try clicking the select button (select.JPG) on the printer itself to resume printing of the other side.

Sorry, but your comment has nothing at all to do with the question. Perhaps you were reading something from another post and put your reply here by mistake?

The lack of an install package is related to the fact that due to age, HP has not continued to release new driver packages for the 4250. Your best option is to download the HP Universal Print Driver and install that.

Thanks for cathching up with my problem.

I downloaded the file from https://www8.hp.com/us/en/solutions/business-solutions/printingsolutions/upd.html

and reinstalled the printer. The box was ticketed to "remove earlier installations," but when it was done I was told there would be a USB dialogue box after I connected to the printer. It didn't come and the dialogue boxes for duplex printing still don't show up.
