Solved!

Due to Coronovirus, I have to store an HP laser printer for an extended period

Linux

Family member is home from University due to Coronovirus and I have to store their HP laser printer until they return to Uni.

As we already have a network printer running, there is no need to run this printer and there is little space to set it up at this time.

Is there a procedure to store the printer for more than a few months or will I expect to have it working when I move it back to University after the crisis?

As long as it is Laser and not an OfficeJet or Deskjet which use ink, you can store the printer as. You can remove the cartridge and store it in a light proof bag, but that is not essential.

It is a laser.  I won't buy an inkjet again.  Expiring inks and clogged heads are not something I want to deal with when I need to print.

Thank you for the response.  I may pull the toners out if the storage is going to be more than a few months.
