OfficeJet Pro 8625
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have reviewed other customers' complaints on this Community site stating different models of ink jet printers flash this error message when commencing an operation like printing or scanning.  It's very pesky because you have to stop to clear the display.  My 8625 Office Jet Pro is about 2 years old.  It has been presenting this error message for about 6 months.  I have done little troubleshooting after reading the comments as it seems to be related to deep in the firmware.  It has never received or sent a fax.  The fax function is turned off. I would appreciate contact from Support to finally get the message extirpated.

Hi @PDXDADDIO

Welcome to HP Forums! 🙂

I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.

I understand you get an error message on your Officejet 8725 printer.

Step 1

  • Make sure your printer is turned on. Disconnect the power cord from the machine.

  • Wait 60 seconds.

  • Reconnect the power cord and wait for the printer to fully start up and become idle.

  • Check if the error message shows up. If yes, follow the advanced critical troubleshooting step which I have shared on a private message

Please check your Private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile,
