Fax to Computer - Can't open HP ToolboxFX

Hello.

I'm trying to set up Fax-to-Computer on my printer/fax.

The guides point to opening HP ToolboxFX (page 127 on http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01948866) and setting it up through there but this toolbox just won't open.

I've tried the software package from both 123.hp.com and https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-LaserJet-Pro-M1536-Multifunction-Printer-series/... (ran these installers as admin, uninstalling and rebooting in between each installation) and it does install a shortcut for the ToolboxFX but the shortcut can't find the program.

I note that the notes for installation do not list Windows 10 as supported, even though the landing page for the install states that it does. Support may not be 100%. I have not tried to install the tool box on Windows 10 so I cannot state for sure it works.

Hmmm... would you know if there's an installer for just the Toolbox? I found this but it just points to downloading the full software package (which I've already tried).

If not, can you think of any other way I can achieve this Fax-to-PC functionality using this HP printer/fax and a Win10 machine?

Hi,

An HP Full Feature Software is not available for your printer for Windows 10, a PCL driver being installed for the OS by the installer and the HP ToolboxFX is not supported on the OS, the installer will only install basic PCL print support and scan functionality

you cannot receive faxes to a computer using Windows 10 with the M1536 printer, such functionality is no longer supported on any operating system later than Windows 7.
