I need to install scan to mail option and reset the printer HP LaserJet MFP M426fdn, cannot do this because or the password required, which I forgot.

Cold Reset/NVRAM resets are restricted steps. You can either wait for an HP Rep to respond to your post or contact HP directly.
That being said, it looks like someone posted the steps here:
