Dear Sir,

 

We brought new Printer of HP 402 DN.  Our purpose of bringing this printer is to print cheques. We have one small tool in excel throgh this we are able to print cheques. Through this tool, while printing cheuques we are choosing envelop monarch size ( 3.87" x 7.5") and chossing auto duplex printing. While choosing we are getting error message that we can't choose auto duplex etc. However when we choose , Cheque is going into the printer and getting jam and not even comming first page also. However when we choose only single page is comming nicely. Our printer connected through USB. Kindly advise.

In general envelopes and smaller media sizes are not used for 2 sided printing as thse are special media types and generally used for printing on one side.  Printer driver is also showing the same error when automatic 2 sided printing is enabled with non-supported size or type of paper.

 

I believe that this is normal behaviour of the printer hardware and driver/software except the paper jam issue, which may need further troubleshooting.

Hi Aravind_1,

 

Unfortunately, the HP M402dn printer engine does not support duplexing for the monarch envelope size.  I would recommend continuing to print single-sided with Tray 1 to prevent paper jams from happening.
