HP Color LaserJet MFP M281fdw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

Just recently, my HP Color LaserJet MFP M281fdw is cutting off the right margin. Almost 1/8th of an inch is outside the paper. this whole issue started with the printer complaining that the paper size in the printer is a mismatch. I changed the paper size to A4 from Letter and the error message disappeared (following instructions in one of the forum posts).

Now the printer works but the right text is cut off which slightly makes sense because the paper width for A4 is less than that of letter.

Please help!

What likely happened is you had a document that was created for A4. If you normally print letter size and are using letter sized media which your US location would suggest then you need to set your printer back to letter size and then you need to make sure that the default paper size setting in the driver on your computer is letter as well. This A4 issue most commonly occurs with PDF documents. There is a setting when you go to print that says "select paper size based on document settings" and this causes the prompt to add A4 paper. Avoid setting this print option whenever possible.
