Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Dear support,

When trying to reinstall my LaserJet printer I get the message below.

MSIExec command:/C:\HP_Color_LaserJet_Pro_MFP_M177\Setup\Core\UIO\UIO_32\unfiedIO.msi" /qn REBOOT=ReallySupress

Path:<empty>

Returncode: 1625

I assume it has something to do with my Windows 10  installation (update from Nov 2019 installed) rather then the printer SW but I don't know.

Can somebody please help?

@MatsPetersen Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you are unable to reinstall the drivers.

Please perform the clean reinstallation of Pre-installed HP drivers

1.       In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.       Select your HP Printer

3.       Select Uninstall

4.       In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.       In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’

6.       Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.

7.       Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.       Click on the “Drivers” tab

9.       Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.   Select Ok

11.   Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.   Close Devices and Printers, restart the computer.

Click here to download the HP Full-featured driver.

Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and follow the on-screen instructions.

Thank you for your help.

No luck though, the same error message occurs again.

Can there be something missing in the registry (like if there is no folder to put the driver in)? - maybe an utterly stupid question.

I can have the printer to print using MS Windows SW but I canät install the HP package (Ie I can't user HP SW and other features then just printing)

Thank you i advance for any help.

Hello,

Thank you for your efforts but still no "cigar" - i.e. the error still being there.

When restarting the computer (after having removed the printer), Windows will detect the printer asap (the printer is connected via USB-cable currently).

When launching the SW - Color_LJPro_MFP_M177_full-solution_16259.exe, the same error comes back

MatsPetersen_0-1593445276455.png

Good part - I can print. Less good parts I can't use other HP features of this multicapable machine.

I have also run driver executable from HP, I have run Diagnostics from Microsoft. No improvement.

A stupid question remains. Does "Path empty" means that there is no path to put the files in (drivers?) in the Registry, rather then that the files are not detected present at my computer (though I can see them...)

Please advice.

@MatsPetersen

Follow the steps below-

1) Right-click on the Start or the Windows icon and open run.

2) In the Run box, type %temp% and hit on "Ok". This will open the "Temp" folder.

3) Select "Date Modified" to "Today" and look for a 7z.... folder.

4) Open the folder and look for a .msi file.

5) Right-click on it to install.

Try running the downloaded file in compatibility mode. Once the driver is downloaded, right-click on the download in the browser and then click on "Show in the folder". Right-click on "Properties" and then click on the "Compatibility" tab. Select, "Run this compatibility mode for" - Windows 10. Also, check the box for "Run this program as an administrator".

Keep me posted.

Hi HP Support (TEJ1602),

Did try the suggested workaround.

Can't find any - 7z.... folder. in the TEMP folder.

Did try to rerun the HP SW installer - same error occured.

Did re-check the TEMP folder but still no             7z.... folder.

Just to make myself clear (repetition), the printer prints (detected by WINDOWS 10 with update from Nov 2019) but I can't install the HP SW (Color_LJPro_MFP_M177_full-solution_16259) that is supposed to make my printer/scanner etc easier to use (and also have access to more features).

Any other suggestions?

Help is appreciated

@MatsPetersen

Configure the print spooler to launch when Windows starts.

  1. Search Windows for control panel, and then click System and Security.

  2. Click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Services.

    If prompted, click Continue.

  3. Double-click Print Spooler.

  4. In the Print Spooler Properties window, click the General tab.

  5. Click the drop-down list next to Startup type, and then click Automatic.

  6. Click Apply, and then click OK.

Now, try to install the printer again.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
