HP Laserjet CM1415
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP Laserjet printer that is not able to send faxes. Whenever somebody tries to send a fax on it, it reads "Result = No Answer".

A reboot has not fixed the problem. Re-establishing the line connection (unplugging printer and phone cord for 20 seconds) did not fix the problem either.

Anybody have any fixes?

Thanks

a few things to try:

make sure the fax line is going into the proper port on the printer, not the one with a telephone image

navigate to the troubleshooting/diagnostic menu, there should be an option to run a fax test.  it'll tell you if your hardware and fax line are working.

call the fax number from a phone, are you hearing the tones? if so, fax line is working.

can faxes be sent to others?  faxing depends on two way communication.  if something is wrong on the receivers fax, it will not go through and error out on your end.

turn ECM (error correction mode) to OFF in the fax setup.

can also try lowering the fax speed in case the printer is having issues sending the fax data
