HP LaserJet 4 Plus
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My computer recently did a Windows update, that I didn't want, so I did system restore and ruined the boot mechanism.  I had the computer/boot repaired but now my printer is not recognized.  I can't find a driver for my HP LaserJet 4 Plus.  Yes, I know it's 25 years old, but it is a workhorse and still going strong.  I've tried some earlier suggestions on this community site from 2017 but have not moved forward with those suggestion because I get a message saying if I do it will infect my computer.  (For example, choose file #6 on Microsoft Updater).

Can anyone help?  I've already spent an entire day...

Thanks.

Kelley

I have a parallel to usb cord that I am connecting with

My experience with those adapter cables is not great and on an older printer like this my recommendation is always to either source an original internal MIO card or use a parallel to network printer server such as TPLink or Startech models. Then you can just use a standard laserjet 4000 driver but that does not always work for the parallel/usb devices.

Oops, nevermind.  I just checked and somehow I got the driver loaded.  Yay!!
