Most of the time when I start the printer and give a print job, the printer amber light blinks few times and some activity noise is heard and after few seconds it all stops. But no print. Then I have to delete the print job and switch off the printer. Then restart the printer and give the print job again. And this time it prints. This is happening since few months now. Everyday I have to do this for the first job. Please any troubleshooting idea or solution would be great help. Thanks in advance.

Try updating the firmware on the printer to the latest version.  You might also want to check and see if you are using the latest driver for your OS too.

The fact that your printer will print after a simple reboot suggests that something on the printer is not fully waking up on its own.  This could be a network issue if the printer is network connected or it could be an internal/power issue with the printer.  A firmware update is the easiest step to try in this area.

You could also make sure your printer is plugged directly into the wall to eliminate power issues with your power strip/surge protector.
