HP Laserjet 4 MP
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi - I was using my Laserjet without any problems on Windows 7, but can't print now that I went to Windows 10.   The Laserjet 4 MP is listed on the HP driver page for Windows 10, but the directions for upgrading the driver don't seem to work or there is something I'm not grasping.

In "Devices & Printers", my printer already shows it is selected with green checkmark.  When I go to "add printer", it cannot find the printer, even when using the "my printer is older" option.  So I went on to the next step, trying to use IP address. Printed the Config pages from my printer to try to find ip address/port, but nothing seems to match these.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

I went through all the Windows Update steps again as found on the Widows 10 drivers for Laserjet page mentioned above, but this time, instead of choosing the port of LPT 1, I chose Virtual USB port (I remembered reading about that port from another solution online), and it worked!  (LPT 1 was probably active before I bought a USB connector for the printer cable some years ago)

Thank you, appreciate the help.   I tried it, but could not print the test page.  Will have to look at the troubleshooting link.
